New York Wedding Photographer

What’s your style?

I come from a storytelling background. For me, shooting the wedding day means documenting it as it naturally unfolds — a little more candid, a little less posed — from getting ready to the final dance. However, when it comes to the portrait walk, that’s where creativity gets to shine. I like to work with couples to learn their backstory and personalities, then collaborate on a visual concept that’s tailored to them. I like all my shoots to be as fun as possible, and if you have a really unusual idea, all the better — there’s no idea  too crazy for me! This is also where we can experiment with different lighting, angles and techniques to make more traditional shots a bit more unique.

What do we get?

Full-day packages start at 7 hours of coverage, with your edited photos delivered in an online gallery that’s ready for you to download, print and share with all your family and guests. If you’re seeking a staged portrait session on an alternate day, let’s talk about concept and budget.

Engagement sessions last two to three hours, with your edited shots also delivered in an online gallery.

If you want extra hours for either of these, that can also be arranged.

How many photos do we end up with?

For a 7-hour wedding you will get anywhere from 400-500 edited digital photos in all their hi-resolution glory. Download, distribute and catch up on everything you can’t remember didn’t see from the best night of your life.

Can I choose black and white or vintage photos?

You don’t have to — you get both! I shoot in color, and during post-processing I convert suitable photos to black and white or a vintage feel for added effect, and you’ll get both versions in the gallery. If you have a special affinity for black and white or vintage, though, definitely let me know — I can absolutely convert more photos to suit your aesthetic taste.

That sounds good, but what’s your price?

I work with couples to determine what works within their price range, so message me your budget. Pricing depends on a few things, such as hours spent shooting (want a longer session? Can do!),  whether it requires a second photographer (larger weddings do) and whether it’s a destination wedding.

Digital photos are great. What about prints and albums?

I hear you! Prints are available for purchase in a variety of sizes, and I can also work with you to create a perfect keepsake album for an additional fee.

Do you shoot outer borough weddings?

Absolutely. I’m based in Manhattan, but in my 10+ years of living in the city, the outer boroughs (Brooklyn in particular) have been regular destinations, both professionally and personally. (All debates about where to get the best fried chicken in BK is welcome and free!)

We’re planning to get married in NYC, but we don’t live in the area. How can we meet?

I love meeting couples in-person (it’s the best way to get to know each other’s styles and collaborate on great concepts), and couples who are out-of-town have nothing to worry about — Skype to the rescue! Just as we’d sit down over coffee in the city, we can chat online and see if it’s a match.

I’m having a destination wedding and want you to document it. How do we arrange your travel?

Once you let me know the logistics, I’ll book my own airfare and rental car (if needed) after you have approved the price. I always look for the most affordable option that’s still convenient for everyone. For hotel, I ask that you reserve a room for me in the hotel where guests are staying. All travel expenses are reimbursed after the wedding.

Will you travel for engagement sessions as well?

Absolutely! Message me.

Should I give you a shot list?

I like to discuss expectations with the couple to make sure that we’re on the same page, but other than that, the only shot list that I request is your list of family group shots to efficiently cover everyone. A day-of schedule is also helpful. Besides that, I don’t require anything else. I’m very thorough with my wedding coverage, from shots of your dress, shoes, hair, flowers, food and special touches at the venue and reception. Take a look at my gallery to see the types of shots you’ll get, or the Featured Wedding to see a sample full day from start to finish.

Do you work with a second shooter?

To make sure your big day is remembered the way it should be, I strongly recommend a second shooter for all weddings with more than 120 guests, and require a second shooter for more than 150 to make sure we don’t miss a thing. A second shooter will be an additional cost.

Can we add hours after we’ve booked you?

Absolutely. I know that sometimes things come up — the cake is later than expected, or you want to surprise your spouse with fireworks at midnight — so I’m flexible. Additional hours can be purchased in advance or on the fly the day-of — the most important thing is that every part of your big night is captured, so just ask and we’ll work something out.

Do you photograph City Hall weddings?

Yes! I love shooting weddings at the City Clerk’s office, and can put together a special package for these small ceremonies. See my step-by-step guide to City Hall weddings and elopements.

When will we see our photographs?

All work is refined in post-production, and I take pride in giving all my couples the best possible memories. Typically it takes about 4-6 weeks, and then we’ll send you a link to the online gallery where you can download hi-res shots and also send the link to family and friends.

Is there a deposit?

Yes. After we meet and determine it’s a good fit, it’s a 50% deposit for me to save the date. This is unfortunately non-refundable.

Are you insured?

Yes, I carry general liability and equipment insurance through TCP. Please let me know if you need a certificate of insurance.

Great! So how do we hire you?

Still with me? Fantastic. Complete the form on my Contact page, and we’ll set up a time to meet over coffee (or Skype, for out-of-towners), so we can talk about your vision for the day. If ti’s a match, the process is actually really easy: all I need to save the date is a signed contract at the deposit, which can be done electronically via PayPal, cash or check. After that, you can count on me to be on your doorstep on the big day!
