Despite heavy rain that morning, I found Louise and Craig in high spirits at the Bar Room in the beautifully restored Beekman Hotel — something I highly recommend for a rainy day. They had flown in from the UK just a few days beforehand, set to elope at City Hall in a small, intimate wedding. I met them just an hour after their “I do”s, and found them sunken in a plush velvet sofa, cocktails in hand.
Originally we had planned to photograph at Central Park, but with the weather being uncooperative, we ended up changing the venue for Beekman Hotel wedding photos. It was the perfect spot: old New York charm and glamour is evident everywhere you look. From the landmarked building’s ornate facade, to the seemingly endless atrium balconies, to the artful paintings on the wall, it was a visual dream. Add to it the the bride’s sleek gown and the groom’s traditional Scottish kilt, and the photos practically took themselves. As a photographer who is constantly on the lookout for unique and beautiful indoor spots, I would highly recommend The Beekman for wedding photos.
