Gapstow Bridge Wedding in Central Park at Christmas | Ashley + Tyler
When this longtime couple from Louisiana told me that they were dreaming of a secret Gapstow Bridge wedding in NYC at Christmastime, my first reaction was — wait, do you know how cold it gets here? As a born-and-bred California girl, I know firsthand that New York winters are not for the faint of heart.
Turns out I had nothing to worry about. Ashley and Tyler exchanged vows in an intimate elopement at Gapstow Bridge in Central Park, with the morning light peeking out from behind towering mirrored skyscrapers. Not only did they handle the 30-something degree weather like champs, but they were also ready for an all-terrain adventure, with the bride rocking brand new white Sperry boots for the ceremony while her Badgley Mischka heels were safely nestled in her bag for later.
Afterward, we warmed up with some coffee, then headed over to Rockefeller Center to take full advantage of a decked-out Christmas wonderland: twinkly fairy lights, pine-scented everything, and, of course, the famed Rockefeller Center Christmas tree towering nearly 100 feet overhead.
A secret Central Park elopement at Christmastime? Mission accomplished.
